As often, it’s a user experience that guided the innovation – here, that of a consultant specialized in software creation: Xavier Vilain, engineer and founder of Orinea, publisher of the Nicoka solution.
During the 15 years he spent in business before founding his own company, Xavier Vilain indeed encountered a multitude of human resource management solutions. These evolved with the immediate needs of the company – from multi-local project management to mileage allowances – somewhat chaotically and without real productivity gains for employees or the company.
After constantly wondering why a unique, intuitive, and comprehensive human resource management solution did not exist, Xavier Vilain and his team decided to invent it. In January 2015, they launched Nicoka.
Nicoka is a modular and accessible human resource management solution, allowing each organization to acquire the components it needs to ensure its proper functioning: recruitment, onboarding, online digital profile management, skills and training management, timesheets and project tracking, leave and expense management, offboarding.
In addition to these essential features, Nicoka is a flexible tool that adapts to the growth and specifics of each mission. All functionalities are indeed multilingual and multi-currency, but also multi-location and multi-structure. The solution is also compatible with all operating systems and browsers, and suited to all types of devices.
The Nicoka solution has been designed to be quickly and easily adopted. For Xavier Vilain: “In the company, all employees know how to use Facebook and Google, they naturally have no apprehension towards digital. We therefore designed our software in the same aesthetic and ergonomic vein, to accelerate its adoption by everyone.”
Before continuing: “We also added a collaborative aspect to ensure transparency and trust between the company and its employees, and to save time for everyone.”On one hand, the multitasking business leader or human resources manager can indeed manage all aspects of their HR activity; on the other hand, employees can also access the platform to consult the information that concerns them and submit their requests (administrative data, dematerialized payslips, paid leave, individual right to training, etc.).
Nicoka also features an integrated Business Intelligence module. In just a few clicks, it is possible to extract and analyze data that will allow for better human resource management. A standard report library is available, and hundreds of others are customizable as an option.
“Business Intelligence is not reserved for large companies”, specifies Xavier Vilain. “Take the example of health insurance: it will be mandatory in all companies starting January 2016, and it is also a real attraction factor for talents. With Nicoka, extracting data related to the age and family situation of employees takes only a few seconds, strategic information when negotiating the best insurance plan.”
In France, small/medium enterprises generate 85% of job creations. For them, good human resource management is imperative to retain employees and grow. When equipping with an HR management solution, cost should not be a barrier. The Nicoka solution is accessible starting at €25/month.
Launched in January 2015, Nicoka HR has already attracted over 20 companies in 3 European countries. Its publisher Orinea intends to continue its development to double this figure by the end of the year.
